On Friday I was lucky enough to attend the public talk the Dalai Lama gave in Adelaide. He was extremely funny and found straightforward lighthearted beautiful ways of dealing with even the most serious and difficult of questions. Much like Louise Hay who is also a person of considerable age, the similarities in how they viewed the world with love and humour, stuck with me. There was a child like manner to the Dalai Lama with simple topics amusing him (the fart joke has been widely circulated in the media) and his laugh/giggle was just magical to hear.
I have spoken with a few people who attended and we all seem to have learned something different from his talk. Here are a few things I learned:
There is immense power behind what he chooses to do - he speaks and teaches what he believes in (his truth) to make the world a better place - and he does this with the threat of death everyday. I didn't realise his political issues until I connected with this energy. I even started coughing when I connected as his channel was so strong. The power and conviction of his words and his purpose was unwavering (and very inspiring).
He described happiness/inner peace as satisfaction. It felt more than just contentment to him. He said that even pain can be satisfying. I would equate this to the feeling of following our soul's desires - as very satisfying.
In the car on the way home my friend mentioned that Buddhists do not believe in a god. I was surprised, as he spoke a lot about god in his talk but I can see that it was his way of embracing all other religions and beliefs through his talk. I now understand a bit more about this belief and he calls this energy or space "isness" - it just is! It is actually very empowering to believe only in the power of self!
A couple of years ago a friend of mine was contemplating the meaning of life and very seriously asked her husband what he thought, his reply was "the cheese, it is all about the cheese". He is a foodie and loves his cheese, so to him, that was quite simply what life was all about, enjoying the simple pleasures. I found this liberating! Yes, life is about fun and enjoyment! The Dalai Lama communicated this for me as well. No matter how screwed up things may seem, underneath it all, there are simple pleasures and the ability to have fun.
It certainly was a lot of fun listening to his talk!
What is Tough Love?
Tough Love to me is when the guidance received doesn’t give you the answers you seek. We all want the quick fix and to be told which pathway to take. But the soul does not work that way. The whole point of being human is to reach oneness and peace by first climbing the hurdles and dodging the tornados! We learn from our mistakes and from our heartbreak and losses. That is OK. That is part of life.
When we ask for guidance we are often shown our next step. It is not often what we expect or are hoping for and we are often not shown why we should take this step or what the outcome will be. There is surrender to the unknown and a leap of faith that is required.
Clients who ask me to channel soul guidance for them have also encountered this “problem”. I ask them to ask questions, which I put to their soul/guides and then write down the answers. Very seldom do direct straight line instructions come through. Instead there will be explanations or a deeper issue to look at before a pathway will present itself. It takes a lot of courage to take on board this guidance rather than dismissing it as not what you were asking for.
Tough love pushes you to look deeper within. To consider another possibility that might be holding you back.
The definition of insanity is “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result”. Soul Guidance pushes us to do something different in a loving and supported way. It might not make sense and can feel tough and hard, but taking that step in a new direction, taking action can just lead to a surprising result!
This is what a client of mine emailed to me recently after receiving some soul guidance:
“…now I can see all the meaning, senses and tough love that were sent to me as soul guidance and can also see that is exactly what I was in need of! As I said, it was hard for me to accept the message because I was hoping for specific direction/s. But the directions I have received are far more powerful, sustaining and worthwhile. It has been a real eye opener! It is really interesting how the guidance has pushed me to tap into my own untapped, innate power that I had long forgotten existed.“
High fives and fist pumping from me!!!! Yay. This is exactly what soul guidance is all about. It is not about our soul telling us what to do, but guiding us to finding the next step for ourselves, guiding us to connect with our own inner power to create whatever lives we want for ourselves. I am so glad this client had the courage to look within and received this message as it provides so much more power for them. The channels open up and the soul guidance starts to flow much more strongly.
What is tough love guiding you to do or discover today?
I believe that knowing who we are at our unique soul level holds the key to living an authentic and joyful life. Once we know who we are, we can begin to BE who we are, and then BECOME who we were always destined to be.
Thank you for your support of this work....
