![]() I have been obsessed with “grounding” for many years. Anyone who has ever done a Reiki course with me knows I focus heavily on grounding before I do an attunement. My intention was always for people to experience their spirituality within their physicality. And this is something that has been important for me personally as well. Early on in my spiritual journey I recognised that I would use spiritual techniques to “escape” my life. When things got tough or I was stressed out and in pain, then I would meditate, have a healing session or do another healing course. I enjoyed these practices of course, but I was also using them as an escape to leave my body and my worries being, and then I returned to my life and nothing changed. This started me thinking about how to do the spiritual stuff I loved but combine the practicalities with every day life. I also found it a little inconvenient when people would leave their body during an attunement and it would take me a long time to bring them back into their body awareness so I could continue with my class, so I started ensuring people were focused on their bodies during an attuement. I completely respect an individual’s journey and needs in a class but I also can’t really let someone take 60 minutes to return to their body after an attunement during a group class. So I would gently coax them back and use grounding tools to help them bring awareness to their body. All of these reasons for grounding are fine, but the latest energies I have been feeling (it could be the eclipse season and equinox) have made me feel the opposite about grounding. I have instead let myself be swept away by these energies. My intention at the moment is to connect as much as I can to these higher vibrating energies that are new to my awareness. My intention is not to ground them into my body this time as it feels in this instance that I will be “burying” them and losing their value. Instead I am getting used to these energies or “assimilating” them. Previously I have tried not to be carried away by the high energies because I was afraid I would get light headed, be ‘off with the fairies’, forgetful and unbalanced. It felt like I needed to be focused and concentrate on my daily life which was in competition with letting these new energies come into my body. Or maybe in the past I had the intention of leaving my body to go to the energy whereas now I allow the energy to come to me, either way I usually focussed on grounding techniques when I could feel myself being subjected to new high vibrating energies. So now, I am sitting in meditation for as long as my schedule will allow. I am enjoying the lightness and play of these high energies as they flow in to my awareness. I am enjoying the feeling in my body as I consciously move these energies around from one part of my body to another. I am enjoying the smile I have on my face while I play and sit and allow these energies to flow through me. I am also not afraid of whether or not I will be able to work, drive my car or take care of my family. Maybe I have more faith in myself and these energies now after so many years of practice or maybe the energies coming through at the moment are different and are able to be integrated more easily. There is so much advice out there to ground yourselves during these high energy periods with methods such as walking barefoot on grass, hugging a tree, using grounding crystals and eating root vegetables. They are all valid and great, but if you are ready to experiment, then see how it feels to rise up and meet these energies and allow them to integrate rather than bury them through grounding. But if the new energies are creating chaos, unhinged emotional outbursts, craziness and feeling unsettled and fearful… then it is appropriate to use grounding techniques to help bring you back into your centre and find calmness and clarity. But rather than look outside of yourself for these grounding and calming techniques, maybe try connecting to your body and your inner guidance. Do something that makes you feel good – even if it is just watching a funny TV show or making your favourite cake. Bringing your awareness to your body and what makes you feel good is a great way to then notice the higher vibrating energies that may be causing the chaos in your life, but may also be upgrading your energetic system and helping you get ready for some powerful new experiences in your life. When ever we have these powerful waves of high vibrating energies (such as an eclipse, super full moon, solar flare or other planetary shift) they work with us to bring to the surface anything that isn’t working in our lives any more. This can create chaos and unsettledness. Whatever is going on, just ride the wave. It is so difficult to try and make everything stay the same in your life when the universal energies flooding through our planet are pushing us towards our destiny and our highest outcomes. If you try and keep everything the same then you are going against the energetic flow and this is what causes you to feel so uncomfortable. Something we just have to get used to is uncertainty. So many balls are up in the air for so many of us. We really can’t move forward or make plans because we don’t know which ball will fall into our lap for us to be able to play with and create our lives with. So we wait, and try not to go too crazy. My feeling is that when April comes, we will all notice how different we are and how our lives have taken a turn. Know that everything is happening FOR you and that you are catching a new energetic wave to shore to start walking your path. Even if it feels chaotic and scary, everything is working out perfectly. I am sure the next couple of months will show us this. If you get the chance, sit and quietly feel these new energies that are affecting our planet at the moment. They are the most beautiful, sweet energies I have ever felt…. Invite them in and use them to your advantage. I will see you on the other side of this powerful couple of weeks!
