![]() I always find December in the lead up to Christmas has the most powerful and profound energy shifts. Personally, I have felt in my body the most intense energy changes, new energy moving in my body and old energy leaving in very dramatic ways. This is probably because of a few different factors. One, we have the solstice energies (21/22nd December) which are always powerful and there are gateways or portals that allow us to access new energies on 11:11 and 12:12. Secondly our focus can shift from internal to external when we have so many things to accomplish for Christmas day (presents, shopping, cooking, organising for events), and so many parties and catch ups with friends, and we may not be integrating on a regular basis, so when we do have the time to focus inwards it can be a dramatic build up of energies that shift all of a sudden. December is also a 3 month (1+2=3) which is about expression and creativity, and this could affect our throat and sacral chakras helping to clear these energy centres out. Which is why people may seem to “push our buttons” through our expression, and we may feel inhibited by the structure and deadlines surrounding the events in December. This can cause some energy to shift as we adjust and figure out the balance between our inner world and outer world. The end of the year is also a time of reflection and readying ourselves for the new opportunities a new year can bring. So we naturally adjust our energy to accommodate and prepare for these changes, and the old energy may leave in a big whoosh to clear the slate. I remember many Christmas lead ups where my energy shifts would happen at the most in-opportune times. For example a massive chest flattening, can’t breathe, crushing energy was leaving my body one Christmas morning. Trying to dress, cook and get ready for Christmas lunch I had no choice but to lay on the floor and move this energy through my body. Deep breaths and very loud sounds coming from deep within me were needed and the only way I could deal with this. My family gave me the space I needed and about 20 minutes later after much breathwork and noise, I saw the most amazing colour I have ever seen start to flow through me. I was dramatic and spectacular…. and then the traditions and schedule of Christmas day continued! There were the other times when I was shifting energy big time, and needing to shop and cook, but all I could do was curl up in bed and assimilate changes through my body. Things always got done in the end! We really do have to honour our bodies and the processes, no matter what is going on in the outside world. And when we do this, it is amazing how things flow and how easily everything gets done around us. So if you are having a break and some relaxation time now, make the most of it, honour your body and whatever shifts and changes are going on with you as you prepare for the New year. If you are busy, use your intuition and inner knowing to prioritise, let some things go if you have to and always put yourself and your needs first before anything else. You can be of service to others much more efficiently if you are fully recharged and centred and aware of your own needs. Happy New Year!
