Equinox

Today is the equinox of 20th March 2013.

Equinox represents to me the equal balance between shortest and longest days of the year. A day of equal day and night.  It is a significant high energy day representing balance.  It’s as if the planet pauses before changing cycles. It represents the changing of one season to another.

I had a realisation today that these significant energy days remind us we are part of a whole greater picture.  It is a reminder to get out of our limited 3D view of what is happening right in front of our faces, and into the greater cycle of energy flow.

I know I fall victim to immersing myself in all the petty (seemingly important) day to day stuff that can become all consuming, like paying the bills, balancing work and family, illness, injury, relationships, pain, family, drama, work stress etc.  But none of that is real (although it seems so real at times).

With the equinox today I started feeling the usual energy buzz through my body, the headache, feeling emotional and weird.  Then I realised.  I am more than this “stuff” I was consumed in. So I tapped into this equinox energy and acknowledged the greater cycle of life and decided to become a part of that cycle rather than my mundane life stressors.  I felt a freedom, a wonderment of the forces of nature and its cycles.   And I realised “This is what is real!”  Then suddenly with this realisation, my headache and wobbliness went away.  I felt powerful and peaceful.

I was not a victim to this energy, I was a part of the greatness of it.  It only felt like a “struggle” or nuisance because I was fighting against the flow of the cycle.  I was trying to live my life without acknowledging and accepting the greater flow – it was like trying
to row a boat upstream instead of with the current.  I allowed myself to go with the flow and felt better for it.

So my advice would be to acknowledge all these beautiful natural cycles like full moons, equinoxes, solstices etc and to just go with the greater flow!
